Driven to Design Better

Hello! I am Sean, a product designer based in Denver, CO. I design modern furniture, lighting, and home accessories with a passion for creative and hands-on design. My background in furniture making and six years of experience at a design studio specializing in hand-blown glass lighting gave me the desire to design products that show the craft of the makers behind them.

A core component of my design process is making a product more sustainable by sourcing local materials, finding production efficiencies, and creating long lasting parts.

This is how I am driven to design better.

Farm to Table? How about Drawing Table to Farmhouse?

Working at a small lighting studio had me wearing multiple hats and gave me years of experience in every part of a product’s life cycle; from concept and design to engineering and prototyping to facilitating nearly every step in the production process. Occasionally I found myself meeting customers face-to-face and installing the finished product in their homes.

Rage Against the Machine… of Production.

After making numerous one-off pieces of furniture and designing various mass produced lighting collections, my design equilibrium is to show the making process in the finished product. This gives each object its own personality and level of nuance not seen in most mass-produced home goods.

We as humans latch onto these details, become fond of the object, and sometimes even form a bond. That connection is what creates a great and memorable product.
